Habitat
Pygmy Marmosets live in the rainforests of the upper Amazon basin just east of the Andes mountains. This area includes the countries Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Northern Bolivia, and Brazil. Some live in the southern/eastern areas of Africa. They live in trees such as the African Tulip tree, Tropical Oak tree, Tropical Dwarf Papaya, Coral tree, Perfume Acacia, and Princess trees. They live in the understory layer of the forest just underneath the canopy. In this area of the trees are many flexible braches and vines for the Pygmy Marmosets to swing on. They also build nests on these branches. A social group of Pygmy Marmosets lives in a territory of less than one acre.
